Facade, sign and porte-cochère fixtures, statement lobby pendants and corridor sconces, configured and built to order in your brand's colors.
Good boutique hotel lighting gives the building a signature at night and then carries that look inside, zone by zone. Outside, that means wet-listed gooseneck or wall-mounted shades on the facade, dedicated sign lights on the blade sign, and warm light under the porte-cochère. Inside, it means a statement pendant in the lobby, low-profile sconces in the corridors, and dimmable pendants in the restaurant and bar, all at 2700K to 3000K and finished in the property's own palette.
Picture checking in at dusk. The street is going blue, a row of half-dome shades throws warm pools down a brick facade, and the hotel's name glows on its sign before you can read the street number. Through the glass, one oversized pendant hangs over the front desk like a lantern. Guests judge a hotel in those first thirty seconds, mostly by its light.
Bock configures and builds its fixtures to order from Twinsburg, Ohio. That lets a designer pick one shade shape, such as the AG half dome used on the YOWIE hotel facade in Philadelphia, and repeat it in the brand color from the curb to the rooftop.
Wet-listed exterior shades, sign lights, statement pendants and corridor sconces that can share one custom powder-coat finish.

Follow a guest from the curb to the room and the boutique hotel lighting job changes at every threshold. Here is how we would specify each zone.
### Arrival, porte-cochère, facade and sign
Hotel exterior lighting makes the entrance easy to find and the building look like itself after dark. Evenly spaced shades on goosenecks wash masonry downward and read as architecture. The AG (8" to 16") and the spherical AS, used at Disneyland's Paradise Pier Hotel, are both cULus listed for damp and wet locations. Light the blade or wall sign with a dedicated sign reflector such as the Emblem Sign, 8" to 22" and wet-location listed. Under a covered porte-cochère, damp-listed pendants work; keep the light warm and even.
### Hotel lobby lighting and reception
The lobby is where a boutique hotel spends its lighting budget. One large pendant over the desk sets the scale. The hand-spun Beretto runs from 15" to 60" with a two-tone powder coat, and it hangs at SOVA Hotel in Dallas and at Radiate Hotels. For double-height spaces, our Oversized Shades reach 36" and 42". Dim the lobby in scenes: bright for morning check-out, lower at night.
### Corridors
Corridor sconces fall under the ADA rule for protruding objects: between 27" and 80" above the floor, a wall fixture may project no more than 4". A compact sconce such as the Pierre keeps the rhythm; confirm its depth on the spec sheet before you lay out the run.
### Guest rooms
Be honest about fit here. Bedside and vanity lights usually come from specialty guest-room suppliers. Bock fits the decorative moments: a pendant over a suite's table or a sconce that repeats the lobby's color.
### Hotel restaurant lighting and bar
The hotel restaurant runs from breakfast to late dinner, so it needs dimmable pendants at one warm CCT. Our restaurant lighting page covers it in depth; in short, repeat the lobby's shade family over the bar.
### Courtyards, pools and rooftops
Anything exposed to rain, sprinklers or pool splash needs a wet listing, not just damp. The Step Neck Dome is cULus wet-location listed and made in the USA, in 12" to 24" sizes.
| Facade / arrival | AG or AS on gooseneck or wall arm; cULus damp and wet; 2700–3000K; photocell or astronomical time clock |
|---|---|
| Hotel sign | Emblem Sign, 8"–22"; cULus wet; aim down across the sign face |
| Lobby / reception | Beretto 24"–60" or Oversized Shades 36"–42"; custom two-tone finish; dimmable LED, scene control |
| Guest corridor | Pierre or other compact sconce; 4" max projection between 27" and 80" AFF (ADA) |
| Restaurant / bar | Pendants from the lobby family; 2700K; dimmable; hang 30"–36" above table tops |
| Courtyard / pool / rooftop | Step Neck Dome or AG; cULus wet; guard where reachable |
| Resort / campground paths | Profile Z bollard, 3000K, ETL wet; or domes on Madeira wood poles aimed straight down |
Des installations réelles — voyez comment ces luminaires s’assemblent sur le terrain.
On a resort or glamping property, the best light is barely noticed: a warm glow at the lodge door, a low bollard at the turn in the path, and a sky full of stars above both.
Campground lighting and glamping lighting should be warm (3000K or lower), low and aimed down. Prefer bollards to tall poles on paths. The Profile Z bollard is ETL listed for wet locations, comes in 3000K or 4000K, dims to 10% on 0–10V, with an opal lens option. Where you do need height, at a bathhouse, camp store or lodge entry, a dome on a gooseneck mounted level sends light to the ground rather than into the trees. For a rustic look, Madeira wood poles in treated Southern Yellow Pine (8' to 16') take most of our goosenecks. Camps A&B uses Step Neck Domes on its dining hall and bunkhouse.
Many rural counties and parks now ask for full-cutoff or fully shielded fixtures. Ask us for IES files so your engineer can confirm the cutoff for your exact configuration before the plan goes in.
Boutique and soft-brand hotels live or die on consistency, and a boutique hotel lighting package is only as good as its reorder five years later.
### Matching brand and design standards
Most hotels have a design standard or a designer's palette. Write an exact powder-coat code into the spec, not a color name. Our shades come in the standard colors at bock.lighting/colors, and the Beretto can take a different color inside and out. Custom colors are available, so ask your rep for a finish chip to approve before production.
### How hospitality lighting is bought
On most hotel projects, lighting is FF&E. The interior designer specifies it, and a purchasing agent buys it along with the furniture. We work with designers, purchasing agents and contractors through our reps, and quote each line with finish, size, mounting and lamp written out so the PO matches the spec.
### Renovations and PIPs
PIPs replace exterior and public-area lighting on a schedule. Because we build to order, a later phase can repeat the first round's shade, finish and mounting.
For jobs that require BAA or BABA, ask us about compliance documentation for your fixture schedule.
Most boutique hotels use 2700K to 3000K throughout. Warm light flatters skin, wood and brick, and makes a lobby feel like a living room. Use 2700K in restaurants, bars and lounges, and 3000K on facades and in corridors. Keep one CCT per zone and write it into the spec; mixed color temperatures on one facade look like a mistake.
Send us the fixture schedule or elevations. A Bock rep will match fixtures to each zone and quote them in your brand's finish.
